Building air tightness has been improved in several countries, but there is still a lot of potential for improvement. What are the solutions, what are the problems and the challenges. I hope to get some new information during the workshop in Brussel at 14 and 15 June.

Last week I visited a building site, where in apartments, new bathrooms, toilets, new heating systems  and insulated glass where being placed. But  air tightness is not an issue. Information about the effects of air tightness and the solutions can help to make it a priority.

Fortunately there are renovation projects with very good air tightness in design, in practice and during the lifetime of the building, the challenge is that this becomes common practice.

my solutions

Awareness by many participants in the building process is the first step. Next, is good information and instruction material . Third is training on all levels in the building process from architect to carpenter or installer of electrical- and ventilation- and heating systems, The last steps are: good execution and adequate performance testing
