In accordance with Article 4(3) of Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable energy sources, all Member States have submitted a report giving their forecast of the expected use of national renewable energy sources in 2020. This summary of the national reports by the European Commission shows that the EU will surpass its target to consume 20 per cent of its energy from renewable energy by 2020.
