Energy efficiency of lifts & escalators
Lifts & escalators, are essential for vertical and horizontal access in public & residential buildings. Their energy efficiency can be greatly improved. We promote developments and links with the Energy Performance of Buildings & the EPB directive.
The Community "Energy efficiency in lifts, escalators & moving walks" will envisage and discuss all ways and means to improve energy efficiency of these equipments in Europe, and the best ways to integrate energy-efficient equipment in Energy-efficient buildings of all types. The work will be suppported by the standardization in progress at ISO and CEN as well as by other guidelines and different reports such as the E4 project (Energy-Efficient Elevators & Escalators) and the efforts deployed by the European Lift Association (ELA) and the national associations of lifts & lift components manufacturers in Europe. It is open to all interested parties, including public authorities specialists, builders, architects and other professionals of the building sector.
