The mission of the community is to bring together stakeholders whose aim is to support and spread passive house standard all over the world. Passive house standard is technically mature and currently the highest standard for energy efficiency in buildings. It is be the basis for realising Zero Net Energy Buildings in a wide range and therefore the necessary standard for achieving a sustainable energy policy in Europe.

Even passive house standard is technically fully mature and in some regions in Europe already obligatory standard for new buildings, there are still myths and legends about apparently non functionalties and exorbitant costs of passive houses. Those myths and legends, which do no more reflect the current situation, shall be overcome by intensive information activities as excursions, International Passive House Days (open passive houses), special seminars for decision makers as well as an International data base, documenting the growing share of passive house buildings.

Additionally it is important to achieve a critical mass in the market for passive house materials and components to make the passive house more cost efficient.
