NERO develops and demonstrates technical solutions, which significantly reduce the costs of new nearly Zero-Energy Wooden Buildings and districts compared to the current situation.   On site and nearby renewable energy system solutions are studied in order to provide real addition of renewable energy production and to provide solutions, which are optimal on local grid and energy system level.

The ExcEED project (European Energy Efficient building district Database) is funded by the European Commission under the H2020 programme and aims at collecting data coming from new, modern and energy efficient buildings (such as energy performance, CO2 emissions, etc.).

Pilot or demonstration buildings are made in order to test new innovative technologies or to demonstrate that a defined level of high building energy performance is possible in reality. These buildings are show cases that allow experts and the general public to visit and see technologies in practice. If the projects would stop after the design and the construction, the real test i.e. the energy performance in practice would not be taken. For some tasks like meeting the predicted energy consumptions, monitoring could be simply based on the analysis of the energy bills.

Das neue Forschungsportal der Forschungsinitiative ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN ist seit April 2017 online. Mit der neugestalteten Forschungsinitiative bündelt das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) seine langjährigen Fördermaßnahmen Energieoptimiertes Bauen (EnOB), Energieeffiziente Stadt (EnEff:Stadt) und Energieeffiziente Wärme- und Kältenetze (EnEff:Wärme) sowie die Forschung zu thermischen Energiespeichern und der Niedertemperatur-Solarthermie und fasst sie unter einem Dach zusammen.

The scientific accompanying research team "EnergieWendeBauen" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has published a new combined monitoring guideline for the field energy in buildings and city quarters, specifically for the research initiatives EnOB and EnEff:Stadt. The monitoring guideline contains besides minimum requirements for measurements in demonstration buildings and quarters within EnOB and EnEff:Stadt also information on support tools, that facilitate the administration and analysis of monitoring data.

Magdalena Rozanska: "It was five years of hard work and we learnt many lessons along the way"   As a dedicated architect, Magdalena Rozanska strongly believes in retrofitting, making old buildings energy efficient and adapting them to modern energy standards. She has been coordinating the MeeFS project, which started in 2012, and aimed at developing an innovative multifunctional and energy efficient façade system. She sums up the achievements so far.

In diesem Rahmen werden, neben der Entwicklung neuer Technologien und Planungsinstrumente, vor allem Pilotprojekte bei der integralen Planung, Umsetzung und messtechnischen Evaluierung von Stadtquartieren unterstützt.
