Albero project of rehabilitation, modernization and requalification of the architectural envelope is part of this urban dynamic as much by its singular aestheticism as by the proposed living environment wanted healthy and pleasant to live for future users. Sequences of access are revisited from the outside to work stations and places of relaxation by revealing and optimizing the potential of this obsolete office building. With these ambitious stakes, our response is also accompanied by a remarkable attitude.

Last year, European Ministers of Culture, along with other institutions and NGOs, highlighted in the Davos Declaration “a trend towards a loss of quality in … the built environment … all over Europe”, characterised by “the trivialisation of construction, the lack of design values, … the growth of faceless urban sprawl and irresponsible land use, the deterioration of historic fabric, and the loss of regional traditions and identities”.

The Sector Study is a biennial survey commissioned by the Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) that collects and analyses statistical, sociological and economic data on European architects, the architectural market and architectural practices.

In order to inform its future policy-making, the European Commission is currently conducting a survey across Europe on architects’ activities with respect to energy renovation and nearly zero energy buildings (nzeb). The survey shall enable to better understand solutions developed by architects, barriers to their implementation and drivers behind architects’ and clients’ choices.
