OPTIMUS "OPTIMising the energy USe in cities with smart decision support systems” is an EU funded project which aims to design, develop and deliver a Decision Support System (DSS), as an integrated web-platform, which helps local authorities to achieve significant reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions in their premises.

On 16 February 2016, the European Commission unveiled a package of energy security measures to equip the EU for global energy transition. The package sets out a wide range of measures to strengthen the EU's resilience to gas supply disruptions, including moderating energy demand, increasing energy production in Europe (including from renewables), further developing a well-functioning and fully integrated internal energy market, as well as diversification of energy sources, suppliers and routes.
