The German heating system market is changing. During the past few years heat pumps and district heating systems have gained momentum in new homes. A statistical survey by the AG Energiebilanzen performed for the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy shows that 20% of new houses are equipped with heat pumps while 22% have district heating systems installed. Furthermore, in 6% of new houses wood and wood pellet boilers are placed. The leading systems are however still gas boilers used in 50% of the new houses.
