The Belgian Building Research Institute is a private research institute founded in 1960 under impulse of the National Federation of Belgian Building Contractors in application of the so-called "De Groote" decree-law of 1947.

The project embraces the thorough renovation a building from the 1930s. The CPAS of Forest Municipality of Brussels brought together its various services there in 2005. To preserve the façade (exterior walls, windows and doors), the walls have been insulated from the inside by 20 cm of cellulose.

The Oxygen Office Building project, ideally located in the city of Brussels between the Royal Park and the Squares District, and between the Arts-Loi and Maelbeek metro stations, aimed the construction of a new low footprint office building replacing one that had become obsolete.
Thanks to a staggering of the roofs, the new building joins the different reference heights of neighboring buildings. The roof also serves of support for a green roof as well as for a high yield photovoltaic production (112m² - 22.5 kWp).

In January 2019 the European Commission published the third report on energy prices and costs in Europe. Published every two years, this most recent report finds that wholesale energy prices have fallen in recent years due to increasing competition on wholesale markets from greater amounts of renewable energy, improved interconnections and a more integrated internal electricity market.
