Economic Assessment Tool: shopping centre retrofit

The economic assessment tool allows estimating the energy saving potential and economic benefits of retrofitting shopping centers.

The tool targets managers and owners and allows entering relevant information about their centre. It provides quick information on the energy consumption and options to reduce energy demand, CO2-emissions, environmental impacts and provides an economic assessment of the investments.


CUBE 2020 scales up to European countries in its 3rd edition

Following the successful participation of two Belgian candidates (Dupuis Publishers and TPALM, both medalist) in its 2nd edition, the CUBE 2020 contest for a better use in efficient buildings moves forward: the 3rd edition will start on January, 1st 2017 with a new year of competition between commercial buildings (candidates from any European country can apply).


1st Buildings India 2017 Exhibition and Conference

1st Buildings India 2017 exhibition and conference will be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, during 10-12 May 2017. The expo will connect exhibitors and speakers with government administrators, municipal bodies, industry leaders, investors, etc., who have interest in developing smart cities.

This event forms part of the 3rd Smart Cities India 2017 expo along with three other co-located expos.

New energy measures το trigger a 1% boost to the EU’s GDP

New energy measures set to be announced later this year could boost the EU’s GDP by 1% by 2030, pumping an additional €190 billion into the EU’s economy and creating up to 900,000 new jobs.


The new package of measures will cover renewable energy, energy efficiency – in particular the buildings sector, electricity market design and governance of the EU’s Energy Union strategy.


Louise-Otto-Peters School in Hockenheim to be an efficiency house plus

The under construction Louise-Otto-Peter School in Hockenheim will be the first educational building within the efficiency house plus programme of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. The roofing ceremony (Richtfest) took place in summer 2016, the completion is planned for April 2017. The building envelope of the efficiency house plus school is built in passive house level.

Louise-Otto-Peters-Schule in Hockenheim wird zum Effizienzhaus Plus

Als erster Bildungsbau im Effizienzhaus Plus-Programm  des BMUB entsteht derzeit der Neubau der Louise-Otto-Peters-Schule in Hockenheim. Das Richtfest fand im Sommer 2016 statt, die Fertigstellung ist für April 2017 geplant. Die Gebäudehülle der Effizienzhaus Plus-Schule wird im Passivhausstandard errichtet. Eine Wärmepumpe in Kombination mit einem Eisspeicher, der auch für die sommerliche passive Kühlung genutzt wird, reduziert die Nutzung des städtischen Nahwärmenetzes auf Spitzenlastzeiten. 191 kWp Photovoltaik werden zur Stromerzeugung eingesetzt.
