Building operation, monitoring, energy management

Every energy manager relies on energy data to make intelligent energy decisions, lower energy costs and increase energy productivity.  But it is important to consider that the quality of your energy decisions is directly dependent on the quality of the data you base them on. Poor data quality can cost you and your clients through inaccurate billing, missed energy saving or retrofit opportunities and even lost energy efficiency projects.

One of the pilot buildings of the Solar Decathlon 2014 will now be rebuilt on the university campus Berlin Charlottenburg. The so-called “Rooftop” building, originally designed as a net energy plus residential building, will now be modified to be used as a seminar room and laboratory. Due to additional measurement technology, the students can learn about energy monitoring with a real building as example.

Panel buildings built by industrialised technology are an illustrative problem of Hungary and Eastern Europe. These multi-family buildings do not meet current standards because they have huge maintenance cost, out-of-date heating-system, mouldy walls and draughty windows, as well as social problems.   The main objective of the MLEI-SOLANOVA project is the integrated energy retrofit of 14 panel buildings using the SOLANOVA technique.
