TripleA-reno is an H2020 EU-funded project running from May 2018 until April 2021. It raises awareness and provides guidance on the different phases of the renovation process.

Concept:   Residential heating energy accounts for more than 30 percent of energy use in most countries of Europe and Central Asia, and even more than 40 percent in the Balkans. Previous construction and heating methods did not focus on saving energy and the environment.   As a result, a highly inefficient energy use intensifies the impact of escalating energy prices on low-income households.

This tool has been eveloped within the H2020 project EnerGAware with the scope of decreasing energy consumption and emissions to increase the affordable housing tenants’ understanding and engagement in energy efficiency.   To cope the issue, the project developed serious game, the Energy Cat Game, where the player will take the role of a cat who dreams about living in the house of tomorrow : a house both energy efficient and comfortable.

Understanding end-user perspectives is crucial for the development and roll-out of new features for energy performance certificates (EPCs).   Without a full insight into what end- users want and need for the next generation of EPCs it will be difficult to make effective use of these new features.

The Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs are inviting experts in the building construction value chain to take part in a survey and give their views on using circular economy principles in the design of buildings.   The results will contribute to defining circular economy policies that could be implemented as part of the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan.

To reduce emissions by at least 55% in 2030 and build the foundations for a climate neutral Europe by 2050, the Renovation Wave aims to renovate 35 million inefficient buildings by 2030.   85-95% of buildings in the EU are expected to still be standing in 2050. Renovating them is essential to reducing emissions and energy use.
