Achieving the full energy transition potential calls for a paradigm shift, and many solutions are investigated to involve as much people as possible and support them reducing their energy consumption.   This September 2020, 10 partners gathered online to kick-off NUDGE, a new project funded by the Horizon 2020 European programme.

New report from BPIE – the Buildings Performance Institute Europe - highlights that more than half of EU Member States are six months late to submit their national Long-Term Renovation Strategies (LTRS), a key element of Europe’s strategy to decarbonise the building stock. Of those submitted only one is fully compliant with EU legislation.

ince September 2017, consumer organizations in 6 European countries have guided consumers through all the stages leading to the purchase of domestic renewable and efficient energy technologies. To facilitate the consumer journey, the project launched group purchases, which lowered the costs of the equipment and guaranteed a fair deal for consumers.

Buildings do not consume energy, people do. Managed by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises (EASME), these projects have helped consumers understand their energy use at their homes or their work places, and have motivated them to engage in energy-saving behaviour. It is possible to change the way energy is perceived and used by consumers with low-cost and cost-effective ICT solutions, and basic personal choices can translate in significant energy and economic savings.
