Rund 80 Prozent der Förderdarlehen im KfW-Programm Erneuerbare Energien (Premiumvariante) gingen an kleine und mittlere Unternehmen. Darüber hinaus stellte das BMU  den Investoren rund 96 Millionen Euro an Tilgungszuschüssen zur Verfügung, um die späteren Rückzahlungen zu verringern.

The new strategy will help people make smarter use of energy in homes, making it easier to take action and reduce bills. Installing some technologies, such as solid wall insulation, could see energy bills cut by £380 a year (average between 2013 and 2020). The new strategy will also be good for jobs, with up to 65,000 jobs required in the green homes industry as a result, for example installing and manufacturing energy saving measures or providing home energy advice. The strategy will be implemented in a three stage plan:

Mayors from signatory cities can expect to receive their official invitation to the Ceremony in the coming weeks, with registration for the event beginning in February. The Covenant of Mayors is a commitment by signatory towns and cities to go beyond the objectives of EU energy policy in terms of reduction in CO2 emissions through enhanced energy efficiency and cleaner energy production and use.
