Supporting investment momentum in the EU
Current levels of investment in sustainable energy are not enough to meet the EU's climate and energy goals for 2030. The use of private finance will be increasingly needed to deliver the required investments in energy efficiency and small-scale renewables, in particular in buildings and businesses.
The aim of Sustainable Energy Investment Forums (SEI Forums) is to work with national stakeholders in order to boost large-scale investment and financing for sustainable energy. SEI Forums builds on the works of the European Energy Efficiency Financial Institutions Group (EEFIG).
SEI Forums is organising a series of events across the EU in order to showcase best practices in developing investment projects and programmes in sustainable energy, and engage dialogue with the financial sector, public authorities, and all stakeholders involved in delivering investments in sustainable energy.
About this event
This event aims to share best practice from Italy, Croatia and Slovenia and further afield in Europe on how energy efficiency can be financed. This includes the use of private funds and innovative financing instruments, notably in the building and industry sectors. Speakers will focus on practical experience in developing, structuring and financing energy efficiency investment programmes. The event will allow time for debate.
The event is organised by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and the UN Environment Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). It is part of the Sustainable Energy Investment Forums contract, funded by the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Union.
