SET Plan 2016 – Central European Energy Conference X

The Strategic Energy Technology Plan 2016 - Central European Energy Conference X (SET Plan 2016 - CEEC X) will be held from 30 November to 2 December 2016 in Bratislava, Slovakia. The event will be held during Slovakia’s EU Council Presidency and will create a prestigious international platform for open discussion on the most important issues regarding current EU energy policy and Research and Innovation policy between stakeholders.

 

The conference will examine achievements in the implementation of the Energy Union, with a special focus on the role of its Research & Innovation dimension. It will also focus on the Integrated Energy Union Strategy for Research, Innovation and Competitiveness that is expected to be presented by the European Commission during Slovakia’s Presidency, including its three main strands: Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda and Global Competitiveness. In addition, the conference will assess progress in achieving the goals set within the other four priority dimensions of the Energy Union, including security of supply, creation of integrated energy market, improving energy efficiency and reduction of emissions.

 

The conference will pay special attention to the evaluation of the role of Central European Member States, including their contribution to the implementation of the goals of the Energy Union and the Integrated SET-Plan. At the end of the conference, draft recommendations will be approved which can be used as tools to implement policy for the SET Plan and Energy Union.
