The 2020 energy and climate objectives of EU countries require a major effort to increase the number of qualified construction workers, capable of delivering high energy performing renovations and, in particular, nearly zero energy buildings. This is directly related to the quality of the educational programs and the inclusion of training on intelligent Energy Efficiency (EE) and Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in buildings.
EnerPro actions will finally result in actual trainings and certification of workers on the new programmes. At least 250 certified workers together with 50 certified trainers will be trained within the duration of the action. Additionally, the project will improve the institutional arrangements in the vocational training system, will reduce the gap in continuing professional training of trainers and will significantly contribute to addressing all priority areas set in the National Roadmap, developed under the Pillar I project of the BUILD UP Skills initiative. With regard to long-term impacts, it is expected to largely improve the existing skills of the workforce responding to the latest market demands, to enhance the vocational training system with a new sustainable perspective, and to contribute to the overall execution of the 2020 goals in the areas of improved energy performance of buildings, integration of RES and climate change mitigation.
