The European project E2VENT is almost at mid-point. A new, clear and understandable 3 minute video summarizing the project is now available.
As we know, the European Union seeks to increase the share of energy efficient buildings, sustainable development and cost effective solutions under the Horizon 2020, especially in the construction industry. It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas from the laboratory to the market. One of such breakthroughs is the E2VENT solution – energy efficient ventilated facades for optimal adaptability and heat exchange enabling low energy architectural concepts for the refurbishment of existing buildings built in the 60s and 70s. Those buildings are found in all Europe and can be characterized by their insulation weakness, bad air quality due to the lack of air renewal systems and low architectural interest. The proposed solution for building retrotting should lead to 50% reduction of primary energy needs and signicant CO2 emissions reduction.
The project is supported by the European Commission under the Energy Theme of the Horizon 2020 for Research and Technological development. It is coordinated by Nobatek and consists of 13 partners from 8 European countries.
