The long-term renovation strategies developed by Member States are an opportunity to reduce energy poverty through stimulating deep renovation of buildings.
Member States cannot miss the opportunity to achieve the triple goal of increasing the rate and depth of renovation, achieving energy savings targets and improving the living conditions of millions of vulnerable citizens.
National renovation strategies must include dedicated policies and measures for low income households.

Essential skills and innovative solutions for a fair energy transition - An initiative of Housing Europe as part of the PROF/TRAC project.
Achieving a clean energy transition in the housing sector is a hard nut to crack. Any viable strategy must aim to scale-up approaches that have already been tried and tested and not rely on targets alone. When it comes to actual practices that work on the ground, under the right conditions, public, cooperative and social housing providers are the ones that have taken the lead in getting the job done.

BUILD UP and BUILD UP Skills join efforts in sharing knowledge of energy efficiency in buildings
In the ongoing effort to promote knowledge exchange among peers, BUILD UP and BUILD UP skills project are delighted to announce their merger.
The objective is to combine the content and practical expertise of both initiatives into a single platform to offer additional training and skills to European stakeholders in energy efficiency.

The next (and last) BUILD UP Skills EU exchange meeting will take place on the 30th and 31st of May at the Bilderberg Hotel in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As usual, this meeting is open for BUILD UP Skills project coordinators and partners involved in the BUILD UP Skills Pillar I, completed and ongoing BUILD UP Skills Pillar II, and ongoing Horizon 2020 Construction Skills projects.

BUStoB (BUILD UP Skills to Business) is a Horizon 2020 project directed towards establishing and upgrading large-scale qualification and training schemes in the Netherlands for craftsmen and other on-site workers, in continuation of the BUILD Up Skills Initiative.

This report sets out to harvest the results of the 9th BUILD UP Skills EU Exchange Meeting which took place on 6 and 7 December 2016 at the Crowne Plaza in Athens, Greece.
A total of 60 participants attended the two-day event including 53 BUILD UP Skills project coordinators representing finalised Pillar I projects, ongoing and finalised Pillar II projects as well as H2020 Construction Skills projects.
