The 3rd BUILD UP Users & Stakeholders Committee, titled “Have your say: what can IEE do for the buildings sector?”, featured a dynamic, “thinking out of the box” interactive meeting, with valuable feedback and suggestions from national, European and international stakeholders organisations . It also highlighted the latest policy developments around energy efficiency in buildings, as well as the ways in which BUILD UP contributes to disseminate best practices Europe-wide.The programme and presentations of the 3rd BUILD UP Users & Stakeholders Committee are located below.

The aim of the communication includes providing an overview of the current
situation of the construction sector as well as elements which have an
impact on its competitiveness, highlighting the sustainable development
objectives of construction enterprises, plus outlining policy
measures which could assist the construction sector in achieving
sustainable competitiveness objectives. The deadline for contributing to
this consultation is September 15, 2011.

The course will include descriptions and photographs to identify common design styles and typical construction methods and materials along with helpful clues on where to look at dwellings to gather this information. The course concludes with a multiple choice assessment and has an award of 3 hours CPD.

Digests - 130 reviews of then current building technologies published from 1948-1966
Overseas Building Notes - 125 guidance notes on low-technology building methods suited to conditions in many developing countries, published from 1961-1994.A further set of more than a thousand documents, including detailed research reports, will be added to the site over the next six months.
