The 5th edition of the International DHC + Summer School is organised in collaboration with EnergyVille, an association of the Flemish research institutes KU Leuven, VITO, imec and UHasselt in the field of sustainable energy and intelligent energy systems. Inaugurated in 2016, EnergyVille is an innovative project that has the objective of becoming one of the top five European institutes in innovative energy research. EnergyVille strives to be a driver in the Thor science park in Genk and a European reference in the area of research and business development.

The Horizon 2020 funded CoolHeating project aims to support the implementation of “small modular renewable heating and cooling grids” for communities in South-Eastern Europe. This is achieved through knowledge transfer and mutual activities of partners in countries where renewable district heating and cooling examples exist (Austria, Denmark, Germany) and in countries which have less development (Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina).
