Understanding the importance and triggering the demand for building commissioning

How familiar are you with building commissioning?

Commissioning makes sure energy efficiency investments maintain their optimal factory-intended operational states, regularly testing their performances. It was introduced in the late 1980s however, despite proven studies, global awareness and industry adoption remains low. (Schneider Electrics, 2016)

In a 2016 Navigant research report, only 16% of building owners reported a direct experience with building commissioning.

At CLIMA 2016, REHVA organised a workshop to collected ideas on how to trigger the demand for building commissioning following the examples of Northern European Countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Netherlands).

QUANTUM project will also promote the advantage of commissioning (and comprehensive quality management systems) for building industry in Europe.
