Founded at COP21, the member organizations of the GABC work toward a zero-emission, efficient, and resilient buildings and construction sector. Specifically, the GlobalABC has the following goals:
- Put buildings and construction sector on a well-below 2- degrees path
- Align existing initiatives, commitments and programmes to achieve greater scale and increase the pace of climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Catalyse stronger collaboration and target sectoral climate action and solutions for everyone.
The purpose of this Building Action Symposium was to bring together country representatives and members of the private and civil society sector to explore how to improve countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) regarding building and construction actions to set the sector on a zero-emission, efficiency, and resilient pathway aligned with the Paris Agreement goals.
