Applications open for Low Energy Building Construction training programme in Ireland (Build Up Skills Initiative)

QualiBuild is running a Foundation Energy Skills Programme for 200 building construction workers. It is envisaged to develop and evaluate this course which will be backed by industry and rolled out nationally.


Applications are now open for the Foundation Energy Skills programme. Courses are running in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Caven, and Limerick in September, October and November 2015.


In brief, the course is intended to provide know how and practical information for building construction workers with the intention of improving their skills and awareness of Quality, Energy Efficiency, Best Practice and System Thinking.



The course is for ALL Building Construction Workers. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a Single Subject Certificate in Introduction to Low Energy Building Construction.


The programme will be delivered through a mix of workshops, site visits and other activities with a total commitment of 3 days for participants.

QualiBuild is funded by the European Commission Build Up Skills Initiative and is being managed and coordinated by Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) with partners Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Blanchardstown Institute of Technology (ITB), the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) and The Construction Industry Federation (CIF). QualiBuild is running training programmes for trainers and for construction workers.
