On the eve of November 21 in Brussels (Belgium), the European project STARDUST received the 2018 .eu Web Award for its website www.stardustproject.eu under the “Better World” Category.
The .eu Web Awards competition, which acknowledges websites with .eu domain, has been organised by EURid, the registry manager of the .eu and .ею country code top-level domains upon appointment of the European Commission in 2003. The “Better World” Category is reserved to websites that represent green initiatives and environmentally-friendly organizations.
STARDUST Enlightening European Cities is one of the projects funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme on Smart Cities and Communities, also known as Lighthouse projects. Its goal is to design and implement a number of smart urban interventions in the fields of energy, mobility, ICT and citizens’ engagement in the three Lighthouse cities of Pamplona (Spain), Tampere (Finland) and Trento (Italy). Four Follower cities (Cluj-Napoca in Romania, Derry in Northern Ireland, Kozani in Greece and Litomerice in Czech Republic) will help develop a sound replication strategy of the smart solutions developed by the project. The project, started in October 2017, will run until September 2022.
