About two years after starting the list of energy efficiency experts for federal German building related subsidy programmes, expert no. 10,000 was recorded on 15 July 2014. The list is a major part of the quality assurance of the KfW building subsidy programmes. Only the listed experts can confirm that a planned building measure is eligible for subsidies.

Two thirds of the experts are architects and enginieers, the other experts are craftsmen. Being on this list ensures the quality of the expert and thus the listed experts have to fulfill various requirements including regular further training. They also have to prove that they consult in state of the art projects. Building owners can find suitable local experts based on postal codes.
