The London Mayor's office has launched its second energy efficiency challenge for businesses to encourage private sector businesses to make a difference in cutting their energy consumption and carbon emissions and bring London closer to its 2025 carbon reduction targets.

Last year, the top 27 businesses out of a total of 58, achieved a total of £12.5m savings on energy bills from a total reduction in their energy usage of more than 180,000MWh, and together reduced emissions by an average of 18%.

This year the Challenge will expand to accept applicants from small and micro businesses with fewer than 50 employees.
