HERON special edition cover

The HERON project released its first special edition titled "Energy Efficiency Barriers in Buildings and Transport - 8 national cases".

This edition, the first of two that the HERON project will deliver, presents the mapping of barriers linked with the end-users behavior towards the implementation of energy efficient policies and the use of the respective technologies in two sectors, buildings and transport for eight countries (7 EU Member States and one candidate Member State).

The edition presents implemented policy instruments for energy efficiency, technological trends for the respective technologies and barriers. All these concern two sectors: buildings and transport.

The barriers are classified in three main groups:

  • Social-Cultural-Educational
  • Economic
  • Institutional

The reader can find which of these barriers are cross-cutting for both sectors per country.
