Outdoor energy technologies and renewable systems at NZE settlements in Europe

Share this Post:

A full report of the outdoor energy technologies and renewable systems at near zero energy (NZE) settlements including energy and environmental details about innovative solutions to be implemented in common areas (D4.1) | ZERO-PLUS project

This report is one of the deliverables of the ZERO-PLUS project: “Achieving near Zero and Positive Energy Settlements in Europe using Advanced Energy Technology”.

It deals with:

  • the description of materials and innovative renewable energy technologies to be implemented in the outdoor areas of the four case study NZE settlements;
  • the analysis of climate boundary conditions associated to the four sites for realistic assessment purpose;
  • the outline of the tools for the settlements microclimate simulation and the energy production/consumption analysis at settlement level; and
  • the preparatory activities for future work in ZERO-PLUS under this subject.

The ZERO-PLUS project: “Achieving near Zero and Positive Energy Settlements in Europe using Advanced Energy Technology”, funded under the EC H2020 program, aims at the development and implementation of a comprehensive, cost-effective system for Net Zero Energy (NZE) settlements. The system is composed of innovative solutions for the building envelope, for building energy generation and management, and for energy management at the settlement level. The developed solutions will be implemented in four different demonstration projects throughout the EU, with varying climates and building types. The results of their implementation will be monitored and analysed. More information can be found at: http://www.zeroplus.org/
