AREA Science Park organizes the only event held in Friuli Venezia Giulia within the 4th edition of the GreeNordEst Week . The week, organized in the framework of the European Union Sustainable Energy Week , involves Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige e Friuli Venezia Giulia and aims to foster synergies and networking among institutions in the North-East to support environmentally sustainable development.
      
AREA Science Park, together with the City of Trieste in the framework of the cooperation undertaken within the PATRES Project organizes at its Congress Centre in Padriciano (Trieste) a public conference in the morning entitled ‘Practices of good governance: the signing of the Covenant of Mayors and prospective development in the territory of Trieste’ and a workshop in the afternoon for local authorities officers and councilors only, entitled ‘Energy saving as driving force for a new economy’.      
Among the speakers, the Italian Minister for the Environment, Corrado Clini, the Mayor of Trieste, Roberto Cosolini, Councillors Riccardo Riccardi (Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Government) , Vittorio Zollia (Province of Trieste), Umberto Laureni, Elena Marchigiani, Fabio Omero, Andrea Dapretto (City of Trieste) besides representatives of the Ministry for the Environment and other local authorities and institutions.
