In our opening session we want to highlight the potential synergies of
such actions between the different governmental levels and to present good
examples in Europe.

The second focal theme of our conference will be climate justice. We are
excited to announce that Prof. Dr. Carlo C. Jaeger from the Potsdam
Institute for Climate Impact Research is our keynote speaker. His "Search
for a Fair Climate Future" is dedicated to the ethics and economics of the
climate crisis and to developing new models for sharing responsibility and
commitment of climate change mitigation.

Currently, almost 1300 local authorities are implementing countless "Local
Solutions for Change" in the framework of their commitment to the Covenant
of Mayors. The Friday morning session will be dedicated to this European
initiative, presenting model Sustainable Energy Action Plans as well as tools
to elaborate and exemplary actions to implement such plans.
