Build Green CEE

The event is designed to provide a low-cost opportunity to learn about multiple countries with emerging markets for green building solutions and to provide information on market demand and regulatory frameworks for companies interested to export their products and services. The event will be a meeting point for all the key decision makers in the area of green buildings (representatives of Green Building Councils and their member companies, public authorities from the country level and EU level, investors, real estate developers and providers of green solutions). A two-day low-cost conference organized by the Romania, Poland and Hungary GBCs with a focus on the CEE region – to explore the improving business case for eco-efficient design and sustainable construction in an environment of rising energy prices, more stringent building codes, newly available technology and growing environmental concern. Build Green CEE will bring together visionary investors, real estate developers, construction companies, architects, engineers, technology and service providers, building management companies, real estate agencies, students and professors, Green Building Councils representatives, NGOs, media and public authorities eager to explore and benefit from the opportunities of building green.

The Central East European region will account for the majority of new construction in Europe and will require extensive energy efficient retrofits of its existing built environment. Build Green CEE: Energy Efficient and Ecological Design for the Region will explore the improving business case for eco-efficient design and sustainable construction in an environment of rising energy prices, more stringent building codes, newly available technology and growing environmental concern.

We have an excellent line up of speakers, including Rick Fedrizzi – CEO of the USGBC, Diana Uerge-Vorsatz – part of the Nobel prize winning UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Jerry Yudelson – a leading green building expert and author of numerous green building publications, Paul King - Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council, Agnes Vorbrodt-Schurma - Principal of VvS | Architects & Consultants, an international practice specializing in sustainable design and consulting, Duygu Erten - founding Vice President and CEO of the Green Building Council of Turkey.
