The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive gives Member States until at the very latest 4 January 2009 to have implemented the requirement of Article 7.3 that all public buildings over 1,000 m2 should display an energy performance certificate.
This workshop will look closely at using Operational Ratings as the basis of energy performance certificates for display by existing public buildings. (Asset Ratings will need to be used for new public sector buildings although within say three years of completion, an Operational Rating might be obtained to show if the building is being operated efficiently and to feedback to the building?s procurement team whether the design intent is working well in practice.)
