According to the implementing regulation Energy Performance of Building (148/2007 Coll.) the asset rating obtained by calculation for standardised conditions is used. Rated energy is delivered energy supplied to the building. The boundaries of the building include all internal and external areas associated with the building, where energy is consumed or produced.

The asset rating is based on calculations of the energy used by building for standardised conditions:

• heating,

• mechanical ventilation with humidification,

• cooling,

• hot water preparing,

• lighting.

The energy performance certificate also includes a methodology that allows assessment of the energy effectiveness of possible improvement to the building.
