Panel buildings built by industrialised technology are an illustrative problem of Hungary and Eastern Europe. These multi-family buildings do not meet current standards because they have huge maintenance cost, out-of-date heating-system, mouldy walls and draughty windows, as well as social problems.   The main objective of the MLEI-SOLANOVA project is the integrated energy retrofit of 14 panel buildings using the SOLANOVA technique.

The Interreg Europe REBUS project (Renovation for Energy efficient BUildingS) aims to improve the capacity of public authorities in European regions to undertake efficient renovation works of their public building stock, thus saving energy and public resources. Lavori di ristrutturazione dell'edificio Pubblico di stock verso nZEB     RePublic_ZEB, un'Energia Intelligente-Europa (IEE) del progetto, si è concentrato sull'energia e le emissioni di CO₂ associati con gli edifici pubblici esistenti e la loro ristrutturazione verso nZEB, a causa dell'enorme potenziale di risparmio energetico. Republic_ZEB si estendeva in tutto il Sud-Est della regione Europea con undici partner situati in paesi di destinazione e uno esterno.
