The overall objective of the project is to maximize the RES harvesting in the built environment by developing and demonstrating cost-effective active building skin solutions as part of an optimised building energy system, being connected into local energy grid and managed by a district energy hub implementing optimised control strategies within a comprehensive economic rationale balancing objectives and performance targets of both private and public stakeholders.

Historically, first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth conferences were completed successfully in Alanya/Antalya (2012), Antalya (2013), Kemer/Antalya (2015), Istanbul (2016), Sarajevo (2017), and Istanbul (2018). Renewable Energy forms one of the pillars for delivering global sustainable environment and the commitment to climate change targets. The renewable energy industry has matured, with huge investments being ploughed into it globally. Global new investment in renewable energy (excluding large hydro-electric projects) was around US$241.6 billion in 2016, with over 138.5GW of added renewable power capacity worldwide. This capacity is equivalent to 55% of all the generating capacity and was approximately double that in fossil fuel generation in 2016.

Just as solar cadastres have become the norm to assess the roof-top PV potential in the last years, assessing the hosting capacity of the low-voltage network for electrical production is on the path to becoming a necessity for an efficient solar production action plan. The model developed here is a hybrid tool composed of a physical model computing results based on a real infrastructure and a statistical model using empirical rules based on frequently encountered cases.

Project concept CraftEdu develops innovative qualification and training schemes for craftsmen and on-site workers in the field of energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources in buildings. It creates learning materials and paves the way for sustainable offering of educational courses on nearly zero-energy buildings (nZEB), targeting the establishing of a solid based for the practical implementation of the upcoming ambitious new building standards.

PV-Prosumers4Grid (PVP4Grid) is an EU-funded project involving 12 partners from various European countries, beginning in October 2017 and running until March 2020. The main objective of PVP4Grid is to increase the market share and market value of PV by enabling consumers to become PV prosumers in a system-friendly manner. PVP4Grid aims at a better power system integration of PV with a focus on market integration.

  The Energy Community Secretariat, an international organization run by the EU and the governments of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine – and which is responsible for transferring the good practices of the EU internal energy market to these eastern European countries – has issued New policy guidelines for the grid integration of prosumers.
