Residential buildings

Among the STUNNING case studies, we find the Torrelago district, which is an apartment block built between 1977-1981.   Torrelago district involves 31 private multi-property residential buildings (1488 dwellings) that were constructed in the 1970s–1980s, more than 140,000 m2 and 4000 residents involved.

As for the last year, the Sustainable Places Conference (Cagliari, 5-7 June 2019) was the occasion for a working sessions of the H2020 project dealing with deep renovation of buildings.   This year, the topic of discussion was “Exploitation of Business Models for Deep Renovation”, as a key issue for ensuring the future implementation of the project results. The involved projects presented their approaches on exploitations in order to highlight potential synergies and strengths to be shared.

This forum gathered more than 550 representatives from local authorities, industry and financial institutions to discuss the key success factors for financing climate adaptation, clean urban transport and energy efficiency in cities and regions.

The E2VENT system that we will develop is an external thermal refurbishment solution with external cladding and air cavity (fig.1).   The distinctive feature of this system is the Smart Modular Heat Recovery Unit allowing us to recover energy from the extracted air while performing the air renewal using double flux heat exchanger in the air cavity (fig.2).

The first stakeholder meeting of the EPBD Article 19a feasibility study will take place in Brussels on 24 June 2019.   The feasibility study is a one-year contract awarded by the European Commission, following Article 19a of EPBD Directive (EU) 2018/844 which amended Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings and Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency.
