The Energy Efficiency Agency / EEA was created in 2002. A unit established within the Ministry of Energy to implement projects under the "PHARE" of the European Union relating to the efficient use of energy – 1992. AEE is a legal entity with headquarters budget Sofia and has the status of an executive agency of the Ministry of Economy and Energy. EEA cooperates actively with ministries and agencies, business organizations, regional administrations and local authorities and businesses, as they provide expert assistance.
