In Cyprus, energy performance certificates and recommendations reports can only be issued by Qualified Experts, who are divided in two categories: QEs for residential buildings and QEs for non-residential buildings. All QEs must have a degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering and be members of ETEK (Cyprus Technical and Scientific Chamber).

For residential buildings, they have to have three years of experience in their field and pass a national exam.

For non-residential buildings, they have to have six years of experience and pass an exam, and it is a prerequisite that they already passed the exam for residential buildings.

In addition, the Energy Service offers courses that candidates may attend in order to pass the exam. Attendance to these courses is not mandatory, however participation is very high.

The links direct you to the announcements (e.g. on coming exams), Training Material and Exam Material sections of the Energy Service of Cyprus website respectively.
