The Building AdVent project website disseminates information on 18 non-domestic buildings that are examples of successfully implemented low energy ventilation systems. The buildings are located in countries spread across the three major climatic regions of Europe- those with moderate heating and cooling loads and those with high heating loads.
It is now widely accepted that the general consumption of energy must be reduced in order to limit the damaging effects of climate change. In buildings, the energy consumed by fans and wasted in ventilation losses accounts for almost 10% of the energy use in the EU. About one third of this could be saved through improved ventilation systems. The webstite offers material for teching and education about advanced ventilation technology, and more detailed reports on design, installation and energy performance.
The project was developed through discussions between the partners involved. It has been funded by the Executive Agency for Competiveness and Innovation (EACI).
