The calls cover the following themes: energy, environment (including climate change), information and communication technologies, nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies.
One of the calls asks for proposals on demonstration of very low energy new buildings. The objective is to demonstrate in the building sector, high energy efficient innovative technologies and measures resulting in very low energy new buildings. The performance calculation should take into account all types of energy use: consumption for space heating and cooling, water heating, air conditioning, as well as consumption of electricity, including lighting. In any case the total annual energy consumption of the building(s) should not exceed 60 kWh/m²/year (primary energy). Both residential and nonresidential buildings are addressed.
