Over the weekend of September 11th and 12th you are invited to visit some of these homes, benefit from the householders experience and find out more about how these changes have been achieved. The 52 open homes are clustered in various neighbourhoods around Bristol. Each neighbourhood has a designated hub such as a cafe, faith centre or library where maps and more detailed information on the homes will be available. Following this weekend a two month programme of events on the theme of energy efficiency in the home will take place across Bristol to help people find out more about what they can do to make their homes more fit for the future. The programme includes courses, talks and practical workshops in The Architecture Centre, The CREATE centre, community centres and libraries throughout the city.

Over September 11th- 12th 2010, people in Bristol are opening their doors showcasing ways they have made their homes more comfortable to live in, more energy efficient and cheaper to run. Many of Bristol's homes are old and few of these older homes are energy smart. Numerous Bristolians are improving their homes with retrofitting measures such as draught-proofing and insulation, and the use of new technologies such as solar PV. These make the homes fit for the future.
