The EED has added a clear message on the need for financing the energy efficiency and also stressed the need for building renovation strategies to be based on a long term vision which is the right direction. By 2020 it was estimated that the savings would slash the EU’s CO2 emissions by 780 million tonnes and save €100 billion in fuel costs.
