25 mayors and city planners from China will be visiting German cities up until 13 July to gather ideas for sustainable urbanisation. Visited cities will include Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main and the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. The study trip is being organised by dena in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Society for International Cooperation).

China has great interest in German know-how. China’s cities are facing great challenges: how can their rapid growth be planned and organised in a way that they consume as little energy and resources as possible? Germany’s cities and businesses have gathered experience in many key areas that are of use to China: from power supply, mobility, building standards and urban planning to waste and water management.
