George Tragopoulos has studied Urban Environmental Managment in Wageningen UR of Holland and has specialized in the energy in the built environment and the sustainable design of buildings. In 2006 he has been worked in Alterra research institute of Holland, in various projects concerning the implementation of renewable energy sources in the built up areas in line with the keeping of balance between the energy production and the societal apsects.
In Greece worked as environmental consultant undertaking European projects concerning the sustainable development of urban and rural areas. Moreover has worked in the sector of sustainable architecture, cooperating with architects and performing analysis of the bioclimatic characteristics of buildings.
Since the begining of 2010 works for the Greek office of WWF, in the department of climate change policy, and undertakes European and national projects concerning the energy efficiency in the built environment and the enforcement of the European legislation with regard to that scope. Moreover he participates in the overall policy design and implementation of WWF, concerning the public awarness with regard to the climate change effect.
