Though not presently listed in the EPB Directive, lifts & escalators should be mentioned as equipment that consume little energy but where energy efficiency improvements are very possible. The European lift industry has produced an energy report, sponsored by "Intelligent Energy Europe", available on http://www.e4project.eu/.
Buildup.eu should have a section on lifts and refer to the existing documents and recommendations on how to measure and how to improve energy efficiency of lifts & escalators.
