Engineers, Law and Communication experts & scientists decided to join forces in order to promote in Greece and the Eastern Mediteranean Area the Passive House (Passiv Haus) standard – a standard that has proved it can contribute sustantially towards energy saving and environmental upgrade of buildings in the Greek teritory / area.
The Passive House idea was born in the 80s in Northern Europe and, during the last years, has developed spectacularly since its principle is based on a state of the art fully functional building/construction standard. Passive Houses offer multiple benefits for the inhabitants, the building industry and the environment.
The Hellenic Passive House Institute aims to support everyone involved in the construction industry (architects, civil and mechanical engineers, construction companies as well as passive systems merchants and manufacturers), but also to provide the public, with accurate and independent information on the design and construction of a passive house.
