Simon le Roux has been actively involved promoting and developing the practice of sustainable design in Finland since 2005 through the Finnish Association of Architects, joined the Pöyry Green Building task force in 2007 and in 2008 qualified as the first BREEAM Assessor in Finland.
Simon’s current work has him in collaboration with energy specialists, lifecycle design, environmental strategy consultants, project management specialists, workplace designers, property developers and timber construction companies.
Simon's goal has been to inspire creativity and develop tools for transformation of urban culture, and for a holistic understanding of the intersection between event and space. His professional background is in design for the urban environment.
His artistic work has focussed on the transformative qualities of performance spaces, and his professional work focussed on developing the business arguments for sustainabity in business culture, and the long term benefits of intangible values, within an economic culture that relentlessly optimises constituent parts without grasping the accumulated impact of the whole.
