u4energy (www.u4energy.eu) is a European Commission initiative, funded through the Intelligent Energy Europe programme, which aims to make Europe more competitive and innovative while helping it to deliver on its ambitious climate change objectives. Check out the projects in the field of energy education on http://ec.europa.eu/energy/intelligent/.
U4Energy is carried out by European Schoolnet on behalf of the European Commission.
Between September 2010 and May 2011, U4energy encourages schools from the European Union and beyond to unite their efforts by saving energy and money for their schools in a competitive and sustainable atmosphere.
Reducing energy consumption or one’s carbon footprint starts with small steps: every single action in the right direction counts. Together, pupils and teachers have the power to change their habits and spread the message to their local communities.
The U4energy competition will award best practices demonstrated by teachers and pupils that actively take part in reducing consumption levels, get involved by learning about efficient energy use and spreading compelling and powerful campaign messages.
