The Fondation Bâtiment Energie was created in 2004 by Arcelor-Mittal, EDF, Gaz de France and Lafarge with the support of public authorities; it was state-approved in March 2005. In anticipation of the objectives retained by the Grenelle Environment Round Table, its target was to contribute to the division by 4 of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of certain types of buildings by 2050. Since its creation and with this aim in mind, the Fondation supports finalized research projects carried out by groups of experts and professionals in this field. The symposium co-organized with the Fondation will present the results of the work of the 3 award-winning groups from its 2005 project tender, relating to the restoration factor 4 of individual houses in a non-localized sector.
