BREEAM consultation - The final report from the UK-GBC consultation with members on the future direction of BREEAM
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment‟s Environmental Assessment Method) is the UK‟s leading environmental assessment method and assesses the environmental performance of buildings at the design stage through to the operational stage. It has been in operation since 1990 and over the years it has been progressively updated. The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) is an independent, membership-based, charity committed to improving the sustainability of the built environment. The UK-GBC held an industry led consultation on BREEAM among its members. The main purpose of the consultation was to provide a broad range of industry professionals with an opportunity to comment on the upcoming BREEAM update for 2011, the direction of BREEAM beyond 2011, and BREEAM as a driver of transformational change. This document provides the results of this consultation.
